I created ETP Coaching because I have a passion for running, fitness, and sports performance. Along the way, I noticed a common problem: too many people become completely focused on the outcome.

Rob Joines
My coaching journey began with a simple desire: to help others and share the knowledge and experience I've gained through running, fitness, and sport. What started as a hobby quickly became a passion, and eventually evolved into ETP Coaching.
Running has had a hugely positive impact on my physical and mental wellbeing, and I'm passionate about helping others discover what they're truly capable of when given the right support, guidance, and opportunity.
I am a Level 3 Qualified Personal Trainer and a Coach in Running Fitness (CiRF) with England Athletics. Over the years, I've worked with athletes of all abilities, from complete beginners taking their first steps through Couch to 5K programmes, to marathon runners, triathletes, HYROX competitors, and 100-mile ultra-marathon athletes. However, the achievements I'm most proud of aren't measured by finish times or medals—they're the personal milestones, confidence, and lifestyle changes my clients achieve along the way.
Sport has always been a major part of my life. I played rugby for over 20 years and have participated in a wide range of sports including rugby league, football, basketball, golf, netball, and touch rugby. This broad sporting background allows me to understand the unique physical and mental demands that athletes face, regardless of their chosen sport.
As a coach, my goal isn't simply to tell you what to do. I want to help you understand why you're doing it. Whether your goal is to complete your first 5K, run a marathon, improve your strength and conditioning, or enhance your overall sports performance, I believe coaching works best when it's a partnership.
